Vincent completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering in Hong Kong, and officially joined Commtech Asia as Graduate Trainee in 2021, bringing his fresh knowledge and skills to the team. Today we have invited Vincent to share his journey with us.
1. How do you feel upon the completion of Scheme A program?
I am truly grateful to my colleagues and I appreciate for their support and knowledge-sharing throughout my scheme A journey. Their guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in my growth and development, and I am deeply appreciative of the positive impact they have had on my professional endeavors.
2. What is your biggest challenge so far in this 2-year journey?
I think managing time effectively is one of the biggest challenge. From planning and organizing daily testing and commissioning activities to reviewing method statements and updating trackers, there is a lot to juggle. Additionally, keeping up with scheme A program, I have to update the logbook regularly, thus, it is important for me to manage my time effectively. However, with the support from my teammates, I am able to maintain a harmonious balance.
3. Can you share one of your memorable project?
One of the most unforgettable projects I’ve worked on was my first manufacturing center project. It was an excellent opportunity to kickstart my career in this field. Being involved in testing and commissioning activities for different MEP systems allowed me to gain a comprehensive understanding of how a building operates. Working alongside my colleagues, I was able to deepen my knowledge of the systems and become well-acquainted with the work processes.
4. How do you think Commtech Asia has assisted you through the journey so far ?
The company has been instrumental in my personal and professional growth journey. Participating in courses such as leadership, presentation skills, and conflict resolution has significantly contributed to my development. The COE training team at Commtech Asia has broadened my understanding of commissioning processes and equipped me with valuable tools for my daily work tasks.
Regular training sessions offered by the company are crucial in keeping me updated with industry standards and guidelines. These sessions ensure that I am well-informed about the latest trends and best practices in the field, allowing me to perform my job more effectively.
Among all the experiences at company, the team building event stands out as the most enjoyable. Engaging in activities like war games and problem-solving challenges with my colleagues not only brought fun and excitement but also reinforced the importance of teamwork and trust in achieving common goals.
5. Any sharing with anyone who are interested in joining us?
It is normal to make mistakes. We grow by learning from our mistakes and applying those lessons in our practices.
